Each resident, in order to graduate, must complete either one major project or two minor projects. Major projects include original clinical or basic science research projects of publishable quality publishable.
Residents will be re-informed regarding the residency research requirement. PGY1 residents will be encouraged to develop an original research idea.
PGY1 residents commit to original major or minor research ideas. If the resident has no clear research idea, a topic will be assigned by the Residency Research Committee.
All PGY1 residents will be required to present their research project findings / abstract in front of the other residents and faculty. The best research project, as judged by the Residency Research Committee, will be awarded a $250 prize. There are also awards for 2nd and 3rd place.
